The Lagos State Police have apprehended eight members of a criminal gang infamous for subjecting their victims to prolonged bouts of anal sex following the theft of their possessions and cash.
The suspects were taken into custody in the affluent neighborhoods of Lekki, Ajah, and Ikoyi.
Police are working diligently to apprehend the remaining members of the ruthless gang, which consists of young men between the ages of 23 and 40.
According to police sources, the young men typically rent living spaces in the city’s upscale areas before embarking on a search for their victims.
They place advertisements in strategic locations throughout the city, offering job opportunities and acting as estate agents.
Individuals who respond to their advertisements are taken to their apartments, usually situated in one of the city’s booming estates, where they are subjected to various forms of torture aimed at forcing them to disclose their account details.
Members of the gang then engage in forced anal sex with their victims, often recording their exploits on video for later viewing while enjoying their ill-gotten gains.
Their modus operandi involves driving around in exotic cars, including high-end SUVs, and placing fake advertisements in strategic areas of Lekki, Ajah, Banana Island, and even Ikoyi.
They then scout the area for attractive and physically fit men.
Once they have identified a victim, they drive him to their apartment, where he is subjected to hours of torture.
During this time, the gang members extract personal information about the victim, including his financial status.
As soon as they have this information, they proceed to the victim’s home or bank to empty his accounts and steal his valuables.
The second phase of their operation involves subjecting the victim to hours of anal sex, which they take turns to engage in.
Their criminal activities were exposed after they targeted a relative of a mobile police officer, who subsequently filed a complaint at a police station in Lekki.
Based on this information, the Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, issued orders to his special squad to apprehend the criminals promptly.
The squad successfully infiltrated the gang and apprehended seven of its members, including the oldest member, who is said to be a lawyer.
During interrogations, members of the gang confessed to targeting healthy-looking young and old men to satisfy their sexual urges through the anus.
They reportedly boasted to detectives that they had been operating for over three years and that they specifically targeted high-end areas where they could easily find well-nourished and endowed men.
After their arrest, the suspects were confined in separate cells to prevent them from attacking other male suspects in custody.
However, a few days later, one of the gang members raised an alarm that the oldest member, who claimed to be a lawyer, was having a sexual relationship with another member of the gang.
The police are now facing the challenge of apprehending the remaining members of the gang, who are believed to have escaped and are continuing their criminal activities elsewhere.
The police commissioner has assured the public that they will soon apprehend all of the gang members and that the swiftness of their initial operation prevented many men in Lagos state from becoming victims.
